For a Fonder Memory of the Hometown On Three Issues Concerning the Ancient Architecture and Ruins Open to the Public
Abstract: Cultural heritage is the common emotional and spiritual refuge for the Chinese nation. The ancient architecture and ruins which are open to the public have an irreplaceable position in preserving history, remembering hometown nostalgia and building a shared spiritual home of ours. The following three issues deserve special attention. Firstly, how we are to combine large and small. The heritage of immense reputation should play a great role in forging the whole nation's nostalgia; the small and medium-sized heritage should deepen the memory of local residents. Thus the resource integration and complementary advantages are to be realized. Secondly, providing good service for both the tourists and local residents. In addition to serving tourists, it is important to excavate the historical culture and organize community cultural activities, so as to enhance the sense of belonging and identity of the residents. Thirdly, through examples of innovative design and display, such as ecological(community)museum, the local residents would know better about their own history and environment, so that they can keep memory and nostalgia.
