Abstract

As Arts Studies become an independent discipline for the third year in 2014，Annual Report on China’s Arts Studies （2014-2015） fully scans the development of Arts Studies discipline and its five subjects in mainland China. The report outlines the development state in 2014 of five subordinate first-level subjects of Arts Studies discipline，i.e. theory of arts，musicology and study of dance，study of theater and filmology，study of fine arts，and study of design. In order to specifies some art categories，according to their actual condition and variation，the editor divides “musicology and study of dance” into two chapters of “musicology” and “study of dance”，“study of theater and filmology” into three chapters of “study of theater”，“filmology” and “study of television art”. When discussing the annual situation of the five subjects，the report mainly focuses on three points of subject overview，issues of concern，and monographic study. “Subject overview” is a panorama of the subjects’ annual development；“issues of concern” thoroughly reviews and analyzes the important annual problems that arouse concern；“monographic study” selects some important theoretical points of the subjects and to do a profound research. The report studies on the highlights as follows：the definition and norm of arts history，and the possibility and method in the disciplinary construction；multiple musical culture in the context of globalization；the dance in art “crossover” perspective，and the ethnicity life experiences in folk dance；the writing and construction of the history of Kunqu opera；movie marketing and the click flick in the era of big data；narrative criticism of TV drama，TV audience rating，and TV variety shows；the integrated and specific study on fine art history；the study on history and theory of design，etc.
