Scene 1

It was July 23，2007.In the line before the customs officers，at the Shanghai Airport，in China，a pretty Chinese girl was waiting.In the purple skirt and purple shirt and with the beauty spot over her left eye，she was very attractive in the airport.She was Ding Rui and her English name was Jane Ding.She was flying to New York，the USA.She was admitted by Columbia University six months ago and got the visa last month.Her future major was bioscience to have her daddy's dream come true.

Ding Rui was next to a girl in one-piece black skirt and with shoulder-length hair.It was her turn to check in.

"My Goodness，you have so many soft drinks with you，"A Chinese lady customs officer suddenly shouted：

"I am sorry.I like the soft drink -Wang Lao Ji so much because of its Chinese flavor.I am going to study in Germany for two years.A friend of my daddy Arvo told us it was hard to buy the soft drink in Germany，"said the girl，"I am afraid you should drink them before you get on the board or throw them into garbage cans，"said the officer，"All drinks bought outside the airport can't be taken on to the plane because of the danger of terrorist attacks，"

"I will do it，"said the girl disappointedly.

After checking in，Ding Rui saw a lot of duty-free shops one after another in the international part of the Pudong Airport in Shanghai.Since there were more than two hours before the flight took off，she went window shopping.She found everything in the duty free shops is high quality，very expensive and must be paid for with hard currency.Out of duty-free shops，she checked the information board.Her flight was at gate 36.On her way to gate 36，she saw the girl in one-piece black skirt was giggling and talking with the people around her.There was a tin of Wang-Lao-Ji in everybody's hand.She suddenly saw Ding Rui.She came up with a tin of the drink.

"Beauty.You were next to me.I am Li Yi，a student now in，Munich University's Medical School.My major is surgery.Will you like to enjoy the motherland taste？Last tin and last time，"said she in English：

Ding Rui took the tin.

"Ding Rui.A freshman of Columbia University.Bioscience Major.Please call me Jane，it's my English name.How do you know I speak English？"said she.

"I heard you talking with the American couples in the line before customs，"said Li Yi.

They two talked and walked toward the airport seats.

"When will you board？"asked Ding Rui.

"In three hours.My flight is delayed.How about you？"

"I should stay for another one and half hours."

"Why is there nobody to see you off？"asked Li Yi.

"My parents have done it too many times.This time I told them，'Your baby eagle should learn to fly herself.I should learn to be independent in a country of individualists.If you follow me to the airport，I will refuse to leave China.You know me'，"Ding Rui said.

Li Yi giggled again."Interesting！Sit down please.My independent Girl.I really expect somebody should have seen me off.But my daddy and mummy are both in Germany and my grandparents are too old to see me off at the airport，"said she.

"Your English is so good."

"Thank you.My grandparents are both English Professors in Fudan University.They said many Germans can speak English very well."

"Well，a lucky bird should be together with us.Here is my email address，please contact me later.""I will.Here's mine."

At the moment，Ding Rui just felt her eyes being covered by a pair of hands."Who？"shouted she."Oh，I know.Sarah Xu."

Sarah Xu loosed her hands and said，"How do you know it's me？"

"By your smell，my friend."said，Ding Rui.

Sarah laughed and said，"You have a dog's nose."

Ding Rui introduced them："Sarah，this is Li Yi.She is now studying in the Munich University，a future surgeon.This is Sarah Xu.A student of the Mid Sweden University.She's a Science Major."

Sarah Xu and Li Yi said "How do you do！"to each other.

"I am so lucky to run into both of you.My flight's been delayed 4hours and I don't know what to do with the time，"said Sarah.

"I am afraid there is not so much.I have to say Bye Bye about an hour，"said Ding Rui.

"My flight is delayed，too.We will be together at least for two and half hours.God bless us.English，German and Swedish are sisters in the same Language Branch，Indo-European Language Family3.We sisters get together here，"said Li Yi.

"I have learnt much about Swedish People.People with short power distance4.The people there have a very harmonious and peaceful life，"said Li Yi.

"But there are still quite a lot of drinking fish，"said Sarah Xu.Li Yi giggled again.

"I hope you won't drink，"said she.

"No"said Sarah，"We have long winter times，and the hardest side of it is the darkness or the short daylight in that part of the year."

"So you love Summer days very much，"said Ding Rui.

"In Sweden，sunny days are not found every season，"said Sarah.

"My daddy transferred planes in Moscow airport last year.He said it was necessary to take off your shoes for a safety check，"said Ding Rui.

"What they are doing is checking all shoes in American and European airports."said Li Yi.

那是2007年6月23號。中國上海機場海關(guān)人員前的長隊里，站著一位漂亮的女孩。紫色的上衣，紫色的裙子，左眼上有顆美人痣，在機場特別引人注意。她叫丁瑞，英語名字簡·丁，就要飛往美國紐約。半年前她被哥倫比亞大學(xué)錄取，上個月才辦好簽證。為了實現(xiàn)父親的夢想，她要讀生物科學(xué)專業(yè)。

站在丁瑞前的是位身穿黑色連衣裙，留著披肩發(fā)的女孩。輪到她辦手續(xù)了。

一位中國女海關(guān)人員突然大叫起來：“我的天啦，你怎么帶這么多軟飲料。”

那位姑娘說：“對不起，王老吉，中國風味，我的最愛。我要在德國學(xué)習兩年啊。我爸爸的一個朋友阿沃說德國很難買到這種飲料?！?

海關(guān)官員說：“恐怕登機前，你要喝光這些飲料，或者把它們?nèi)舆M垃圾箱。有恐怖襲擊的危險，外邊買的飲料不能帶上飛機.”

那個女孩失望地說：“好吧！”

過了海關(guān)，在上海浦東機場國際區(qū)，丁瑞看到許多免稅商店，一家接著一家。離飛機起飛還有兩個多小時，她先逛逛商店。她發(fā)現(xiàn)免稅商店商品質(zhì)量特別好，價格也非常高，還必須用硬通貨支付。走出免稅商店，她看了下消息牌，她應(yīng)在第36門登機。正走著，她看到那個穿黑色連衣裙的女孩，咯咯笑著，和周圍的人聊著，每個人手里有一罐王老吉。突然她看到了丁瑞。她拿著一罐王老吉向她走過來。

她用英語說：“美女，剛才，你就站我后邊。李奕，慕尼黑大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院學(xué)生，外科專業(yè)。來，祖國風味！最后一罐，最后一次?！?

丁瑞接過飲料，說：“丁瑞，哥倫比亞大學(xué)一年級生，生物科學(xué)專業(yè)。叫我簡吧！我的英文名字。你怎么知道我會說英語？”

李奕說：“排隊過海關(guān)的時候，我聽到你和那對美國夫婦聊天了?！?/p>
