從機場出來，正式踏上了國外的土地。去市區的方法多種多樣，比如乘坐出租車，搭乘機場巴士或輕軌等。另外，在國外生活，學會開車之前要多利用公共交通工具。比如在美國，只有大城市有地鐵，中小型城市主要使用公共汽車。

常見機場用車

shuttle(bus) 區間巴士 所謂的shuttle就是指“定期往返于兩地”。機場有很多只需花15~22美元就可以到達市內任何地方的區間巴士。

door-to-door service 直達服務 出租車、機場小型客車和機場巴士都提供這種直達服務。

van 面包車

limousine 豪華轎車 其費用一般是小型客車的兩倍。

chauffeur 司機 尤指豪華轎車的專職司機（hired driver）。

executive car 主管用車；高級車

The Air Train 輕軌 輕軌把四個地鐵站與紐約長島鐵路（LIRR）以及JFK國際機場連接起來。輕軌的優點是每周7天、每天24小時不間斷地運行。

meet-and-greet 機場迎賓

passenger pick-up（用車）接乘客

乘坐公交車

bus 巴士，公交車 分為大眾城市公交和高速公交兩種類型。兩者都在JFK 國際機場和紐約市區的各個地方往返運營。

這兩個單詞合并而成。美國鐵路公司的正式名稱為National Railroad Passenger Corporation，其業務遍及全國46個州，一共有500多個車站，且終年無休。乘坐美國的火車幾乎能夠到達國內的任何地方。

meter 米 出租車以行駛距離為計費的標準之一。

toll 通行費因使用道路或橋梁而交納的稅費。收票繳稅的地方叫做tollbooth。

Q: How can I get downtown? 我怎么去市中心？

“怎么去…？”用“How can I get…”來表達。downtown意為“市區”，尤指“商業中心”。

downtown 既可以用作名詞，也可以用作副詞，在這里是副詞，意思是“朝向市中心”。

A: There are a number of buses that go downtown. 到市區的公交車有很多。

You can take the AirTrain. 您可以乘坐空中列車。

The fastest way is by taxi. 最快的方法是打車。

Q: Where is the bus stop/subway station/taxi stand/train station?

公交車站/地鐵站/出租車站/火車站在哪里？

A: It’s right outside of the terminal. 出了航站樓，右邊就是。

fare 指的是“（火車、地鐵、船等的）費用、票價”。另外，在詢問票價時也常用“How much will it cost to…?”（…多少錢？）這一表達方式，例如：How much will it cost to go downtown?（到市區的價格是多少？）。

A: The fare is $5 one-way. 單程車票是5美元。

It’s $20 round-trip. 往返票是20美元。

We charge a flat rate of $35. 我們統一收費35美元。

Q: I’d like to buy a ticket for the airport shuttle, please. 我想買一張機場巴士的票。A: What is your destination? 您要去哪里？
