THIS EARLY DRAFT of Chapter 17 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was handwritten by J.K. Rowling. Most of the dialogue that appears here remains the same as the published text, but in this draft Harry is given this defiant line:

‘You haven't got the stone yet...

Dumbledore will be here soon. He'll stop you.’
