Chapter 2　Inspection Examination

The inspection or looking examination is the method by which the practitioner can understand the pathogenic condition through observation. The practitioner observes the change of the patient's spirit, colour, body shape and postures, as well as the various parts of the body, including the tongue and the colour and quality of the excreta.

The content of an inspection examination includes five parts: the inspection of the circumstances of the entire body; inspection of the circumstances of various parts of the body; inspection of the tongue; inspection of excreta and inspection of infants' and children's hands.
