3. A Brief History of Development of Diagnosis of CM

The following doctors and their writings have contributed greatly to the development of diagnosis of CM and their contributions should be well appreciated and understood(Table 1-1).

In modern times,Manuals of Colour Graph about Glossoscopy (彩圖辨舌指南)authored by Cao Bing-zhang (曹炳章) is a very important work about tongue diagnosis since the book included a discussion about tongue diagnosis from various dynasties.Investigation of Glossoscopy (舌診研究) by Chen Ze-lin (陳澤霖);Differential Diagnosis of Symptoms in TCM (中醫癥狀鑒別診斷學),Differential Diagnosis of Patterns in TCM(中醫證候鑒別診斷學) by Zhao Jin-duo (趙金鐸); in addition successive editions of theDiagnosis of TCM (中醫診斷學) make the contents of the diagnosis of CM more systematical, comprehensive and accurate.
