譚山林之樂[1]者，未必真得山林之趣；厭[2]名利之譚者，未必盡忘名利之情[3]。

[3]名利之情：追逐名利的欲望。

【今文解譯】

動輒談論山林之樂的人，未必真的知道山林之樂的妙趣。

口口聲聲說厭惡名利的人，未必都已經拋卻了名利之心。

【English Translation】

It does not necessarily follow that he who is fond of talking about the delight in living amid the mountains and forest really understands the bliss of such a life. Neither does it so that he who declares himself to be disgusted at the talk about fame and wealth has completely banished from his mind the desire for fame and wealth.
