Chapter 3. jQuery UI, ThemeRoller, and the Anatomy of a Theme
Now that we have a working application, we will look at how a theme is structured. We are going to study the difference between the layout that an application uses and its look and feel. Next we will investigate how PrimeFaces uses jQuery UI to apply a theme to an application. We will then proceed to adding a new theme to the project.

- jQuery UI and its standard CSS rules
- The difference between a layout and the look and feel of an application
- How PrimeFaces uses the jQuery UI CSS rules to apply a theme to its components
- The simplest way of adjusting any theme using custom CSS rules – changing the font and initial font size
- When simple changes are not enough – introducing ThemeRoller
- Using ThemeRoller to create a theme and download it
- CSS in a custom theme as compared to a PrimeFaces theme
- Packaging a theme to make it fully compatible with PrimeFaces and adding a custom theme to a project
