Summary

In this chapter, we talked briefly about the journey we will take into the world of machine learning and R. We discussed the basics of R and built a strong foundation of the core constructs and data structures used in R. Then we ped into the world of machine learning by looking at some concepts and algorithms, and how it is used in the world to solve problems. Finally, we ended with a quick glance at some of the most popular machine learning packages in R to get us all familiarized with some handy tools for our machine learning toolbox!

In the next chapter, we will be looking in depth about machine learning concepts and algorithms which will help us make the machines learn something!
