About the Author

Richard Kho is a software engineer living in San Francisco. He taught himself how to code in 2014 and has lived a past life as a photographer and cinematographer.

He currently works for Capital One and has taught software engineers at Hack Reactor in the past. Richard is also a technical advisor to Code Chrysalis, an advanced software engineering immersive in Tokyo.

I would like to immensely thank my girlfriend Ro for her support and encouragement in my life, and for her tremendous help overcoming a couple cases of writer’s block while writing this book. I also want to thank my two cats, Mystique and Walter, for keeping me company during my writing sessions.

I also owe a deep amount of gratitude to my parents, Bakthong and Seuchyong, for encouraging this career change; without them I would not feel as empowered as I am today.

I’d like to thank Pavan Ravipati and Arian Faurtosh, who I worked closely with as we dove into a very beta release of React Native back in 2015 and helped spark my interest in this framework.
