Page setup
Since you chose this format when setting your layout, your map has a landscape orientation (the long edge is horizontal). You will keep this orientation for this map layout, but for future reference, this can be changed in the Layout Properties:
- Right-click the virtual page outside of any selected data frames and click Properties. Select Page Setup (you can also access this from the Page Setup section of the layout ribbon). Verify your page size and other settings here:

While we're here, let's update the name of our layout:
- In Layout Properties, select General on the left. Change the Name to US Counties Layout. Click OK and note that the name updates on the tab at the top of the layout window.
Printer margins are not visible in ArcPro, but be aware that most printers cannot print all the way to the edges of the page. To make sure you stay within the printable area, add guides to your page by right-clicking on the ruler and selecting Add Guides … (make sure to select the one with the …). Select both to place around all margins. Under Placement, select Offset from edge and set the Margin to 0.25 in, which is suitable for most printers.
