Matrix organizations

Matrix organizations are typically developed in one of three ways depending on the organizational processes and how integral projects are to the organization. In fact, the three types could also represent the progression that organizations would have to take to get to the point where project work is as important as functional or operational work:

• Weak matrix
• Balanced matrix
• Strong matrix
