Creating a free account on AWS

AWS provides you with a free account so that you can explore different services. For more details about these free services, please visit https://aws.amazon.com/free . You will see the following screen:

Follow these steps to get your free EC2 node for Spark installation:

1. Sign up for an AWS account with your Email address and Password, as shown in the following screenshot: 

1. You will end up in the AWS Management Console, as follows:

1. Select the Amazon Machine Image (AMI) that you want. We chose Ubuntu Server 18.04 here:

1. Select Free tier eligible, t2.micro, as follows:

1. Select Configure Security Group to allow all machines to connect to the instance that you've created, as follows:

1. Review your launch instance, as follows:

1. On clicking Launch, you will see a pop-up, which will allow you to generate a new key-value pair for your instance:

1. This will generate a public key and private keys for your instance. The public key is stored in an Amazon instance, while you need to download the private key.
2. Click on Download Key Pair. This will download a .pem file on to your machine. Keep it in a safe location on your machine.
3. After downloading the .pem file, click on Launch. This will take some time and show up the following page:
