趙Sir：你有沒有用過caught和court？

Henry：用過，例如以下句子：

I got caught in the tennis court yesterday.

（昨天我在網(wǎng)球場被拿下。）

趙Sir：Why did you get caught in the court?（“為何你被捉拿？”）

Henry：It was because I didn't attend class.（“因為我沒上課。”）

趙Sir：例句很好，希望上述事件不會真的發(fā)生。先談court的用法，它有很多意思：

一、“法院、法庭”，例如：

Her lawyer made a statement outside the court.

（她的律師在法庭外面發(fā)表了一份聲明。）

二、“球場”，例如tennis court（網(wǎng)球場）、squash court（壁球場）、badminton court（羽毛球場）：

He won after 52 minutes on court.

（他上場僅五十二分鐘就取得勝利。）

三、“（場）館”，例如：

There is a food court at the shopping mall.

（在那大型購物中心有一個美食廣場。）

四、“宮廷”，例如：

Could we see the court of Queen Victoria today?

（我們現(xiàn)在還可看到維多利亞女王的宮廷嗎？）

Henry：我相信在電影或可看到，在博物館則未必看到了。Caught又如何？

趙Sir：Caught是catch的過去式（past tense）及過去分詞（past participle），意思有很多：

一、“捕捉”，例如：

The cat caught a mouse.

（那隻貓捉到一隻老鼠。）

二、“當(dāng)場發(fā)現(xiàn)”，例如：

I caught her smoking in the bathroom.

（我碰見她在洗手間裏抽煙。）

三、“趕上”，例如：

We caught the 12:15 train from Oxford.

（我們趕上了十二時十五分從牛津開出的火車。）

Henry：香港的火車班次頻密，開車時間毋須記。
