趙Sir：你對berth和birth有何認識？

Henry：Berth是“（船的）泊位”，birth是“出生”，兩字的讀音相同。

趙Sir：解釋得好！Berth有兩個意思，第一個是“（船的）泊位”，例如：

A steamship moored to its berth at the pier.

（一艘蒸汽船慢慢停泊在碼頭。）

第二個意思是“（船/火車上的）臥鋪”，例如：

Michael booked a berth on the first boat he could.

（米高盡力預訂了第一艘泊港船的臥鋪。）

Henry：短語give a wide berth to someone是指甚麼事情？

趙Sir：是指“避開（某人）、對（某人）敬而遠之”（to avoid someone），例如：
