三、形容詞

形容詞是用來修飾名詞或代詞的詞，在詞典中標志為adj.。常用形容詞按照意思主要分類如下：

形容詞和副詞可以用在兩者之間或三者及以上的比較，稱比較級和最高級形式。形容詞和副詞常見的比較級和最高級變化規則有

注意

① 三個及以上形容詞同時作定語修飾名詞時，一般情況下，排列順序為

限定詞（冠詞、指示代詞、物主代詞、數詞等）+表示觀點的描述性形容詞+形狀、大小、長短、高低+年齡、新舊+顏色+國籍、地區+物質材料+中心詞。

例如：

three big red apples三個大紅蘋果

a graceful old Chinese lady一位優雅的中國老太太

my beautiful new Chinese silk dress我那漂亮的新的中式絲裙

an expensive new Japanese sports car一輛昂貴的新日本跑車

記憶口訣：縣官袁大老，救紅中木牌。（諧音：縣指限定詞；官諧音觀，指觀點描述形容詞；袁諧音圓，指各種形狀；大即尺寸大小；老即年齡老小；救諧音舊，即新舊；紅指各種顏色；中即中國，指國家和地區；木指各種材料；牌指所描述的物品）

② 形容詞作定語，通常放在所修飾的名詞或代詞前，但是也有一些特殊的定語后置情況。

③ 有的形容詞僅作定語，有的形容詞僅作表語，有的形容詞兩者皆可。

④ 形容詞和副詞的最高級形式通常前面加定冠詞the。例如：

She is the tallest girl in our class. 她是我們班最高的女孩。

This book is the heaviest one in the library. 這本書是這個圖書館里最重的。
