1 General

1.0.1 This code is prepared for the compliance with technical and economic policies promulgated by the state when designing shunt capacitor installations for power project that are required to be safe,reliable,technically advance,cost effective and easily operational and maintainable.

1.0.2 This code is applicable to designing reactive power compensation three-phase HV/LV AC shunt capacitor installations in newly-built and expanded substations and distribution rooms at 750kV and below.

1.0.3 The compensation capacity,connection mode,associated equipment,control and protection mode,arrangement and installation of shunt capacitor shall be determined according to the grid conditions,compensation demand,environmental conditions,operation and maintenance requirements and field experience at the installation location.

1.0.4 The type selection of shunt capacitor installations shall meet relevant national standards in force.

1.0.5 In addition to those specified in this code,shunt capacitor installations shall be designed in compliance with the requirements of other relevant national standards in force.
