David: Hello, my name is David.1 Nice to meet you.2

Jenny: Hi, I'm Jenny. It's my pleasure to meet you.

David: I am sorry. What is your name, again？

Jenny: Jenny.

David: What's your surname？

Jenny: My surname is William. I'm Jenny William.

David: So Jenny, what do you do for a living？

Jenny: I work at the local school teaching English. What do you do for a living？

David: I'm also an English teacher.

Notes

1．英文名字一般都是名在前，姓在后。first name意為“名”，又稱作given name。last name又被稱作surname或family name，意為“姓”。通常牧師會(huì)幫助取一個(gè)英文名，如Ashley, Annie, George, Steven等，這種名字稱作Christian name（受洗禮時(shí)取的名字）。

2．Nice to meet you．這是兩位初次見面相識(shí)后的用語(yǔ)，意思是“見到你很高興”。初次見面可由自我介紹、第三者介紹或者詢問(wèn)相識(shí)。

1．Long time no see．好久不見。

2．It's nice to see you.（=Nice to meet you.）很高興見到你。回答一般用“Nice to meet you too.”
