重游沅陵桃溪坪，1949

風送晚霞山外山，

桃溪源首有無間，

道邊空屋剩危欄。

當日居民何處去？

如今留下水灣灣，

板橋斜跨白沙灘。

注：

桃溪坪，位于酉水左岸。抗日戰爭期間，由沅陵城區去白田頭雅禮中學初中部，必經桃溪坪。當時，村中不少房屋租給從淪陷區逃難到這里的居民居住，今已人去屋空。

—Revisiting Taoxiping in Yuanling, 1949

Wind sends off evening glow mountain beyond mountain,

Half hidden and half visible is Taoxi's fountain,

Houses on the roadside are empty, with rails worm-eaten.

Former residents, where are they now?

The stream winds its way, alone and forsaken,

The board bridge spans the white bay, sorrow-laden.

Note:

Taoxiping is located to the left of Youshui River. In the wartime period, it was the only way from Yuanling to Yali Middle School (Junior High School Section) in Baitiantou. At the time, many villagers rented their houses to refugees from the enemy-occupied area. The houses are empty now.
