woodlands divine raised until

drooping blessed whose seek

upward hovels inner steal

heaven hearts lilies die roaming

"If I were a sunbeam，

“如果我是陽光，

I know what I'd do；

我知道自己要做什么；

I would seek white lilies，

我要漫游林地，

Roaming woodlands through.

尋找白色的百合。

I would steal among them，

我要在它們中間徘徊，

Softest light I'd shed，

散發最柔軟的光芒，

Until every lily

直到每朵百合

Raised its drooping head.

抬起它們低垂的腦袋。

"If I were a sunbeam，

“如果我是陽光，

I know where I'd go；

我知道自己要去哪里；

Into lowly hovels，

我要去低矮黑暗的

Dark with want and woe：

充滿希望和痛苦的小屋；

Till sad hearts looked upward，

直到悲傷的心變得樂觀向上，

I would shine and shine；

我將一直照耀；

Then they'd think of heaven，

那么，他們將會想到天堂，

Their sweet home and mine."

他們幸福的家，我也如此。”

Are you not a sunbeam，

你不是陽光，

Child, whose life is glad

孩子，誰的生活

With an inner brightness

總是充滿

Sunshine never had?

明媚的陽光呢？

Oh, as God has blessed you，

哦，上帝保佑你，

Scatter light divine！

散播神圣之光！

For there is no sunbeam

對于沒有陽光的地方

But must die or shine.

只有死亡或是照耀。
