Time for action - painting the gazebo
We built a nice gazebo, but it's definitely missing something. Therefore, let's fix it up with a texturing or if you prefer, you could paint it a solid color:
- After saving the gazebo project file, open the file that we have been working on.
- Navigate to the Gazebo prop that we just built and double-click or drag-and-drop to place it in the scene. It's your choice where to place it.
- Is it too big? Remember we are working at 50% scale on this project so reduce the scale to around 50% of the current values for all three axis of the gazebo.
- Click on Set, Grass, and select the Grass from the Scene Manager. On the right-side menu, select the Mower and size it to whatever size you are comfortable using. If you make a mistake with the mower, you can use the undo feature to go back to before the mistake. Clear the grass growing through the floor. Repeat the process to clear the flowers or any other Live Plant that may be showing through the floor.
- Highlight the cylinder we used for the floor. You can do that by either clicking directly on the screen or by selecting it in the Scene Manager.
- Click on the Load Material button in the Material & Texture settings section of the right-side menu and choose Wood 005.

Don't see the iMaterial files? In Windows 7 and Vista, the
iMaterialfiles are located at:C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Template\iClone 4 Template\iClone Template\Materials LibIf you have not used any of the channel buttons before, then the iMaterials should be visible immediately after clicking on the Load Material button.
- Select
Cone_006from the Scene Manager and press the Load Material button again to load the same wooden material as you loaded in previous step or click on the Paint Bucket icon in the right side panel then click on the roof of the gazebo to apply the same texture to cone as the cylinder has. The only problem with this is the material may not be properly applied to every prop with this method, as shown in the next image with the wavy wood texture on the roof:
