John Cumpsty has worked in the IT industry since 1984, having begun with Digital Equipment Corporation in its DecDirect operation as a Product Manager for its Networking Products line. This experience subsequently led to working in a variety of Product Marketing and Sales roles for a number of smaller U.S. and UK manufacturers who wished to penetrate UK and other European IT markets. A number of these products were complementary to the solutions being brought to market by Citrix in the mid 90s, and so having been "hooked on Citrix", there was a certain logic in John becoming a Citrix Certified Instructor, which has been the case since November 1999.

Most of his CCI experience, knowledge, and skills have come through employment with UK CALCs, but for the last 4 years he has provided training on a freelance basis in conjunction with UK, other European, and Middle East Citrix channels.
