About the Reviewers
Georg Kaindl is a hardware and software enthusiast with a diverse background in multiple fields, such as computer vision, compiler optimization, embedded systems programming, and real-time graphics. He earned an MSc degree at the Vienna University of Technology and has since been contracted for both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups. He has also established multiple software ventures himself. He also teaches courses on interaction design and advanced programming topics as an external lecturer at universities and other educational institutions. Apart from his professional work, he enjoys contributing to open source projects, such as the Arduino environment and the Linux kernel.
Tor Oscar Olsson was born in 1990 in Lund, Sweden. In 2009, he began studying Engineering and Computer Science at Lund University. Before and during his studies, he worked on several personal projects involving software development, configuration, and hardware.
During his last 2 years at Lund University, he worked in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Engineering with different projects associated with robotics. Most of his time was spent developing and evaluating hard real-time communication protocols.
In 2014, he received his Master's degree after writing a thesis on solving linear systems efficiently; the thesis can be found at http://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/o.o.i.s?id=24965&postid=4463318.
Yogi A. Patel is a PhD student of Neuroengineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, working on the design of neural interfaces, real-time systems, and electrical stimulation therapies. He has a background in computational science and biochemistry, with interests in entrepreneurship and academia. He teaches courses on bioelectricity and analog/digital circuit design, develops open source electrophysiology hardware (www.puggleboard.com) and software (www.rtxi.org), and contributes to the development of the Linux kernel.
Donald R. Poole, Jr. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and works at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) as a research engineer, designing and developing wired and wireless communications, radars, and embedded systems for the U.S. government and industry. He has expertise in building custom embedded ARM Linux systems from the ground up for signal processing and robotics applications. He is currently part of a team of lead integrators and developers for the U.S. Army's Vehicular Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY) initiative for tactical vehicle and ground combat systems. He is happily married and has a young son, who he loves spending time with when he's not working. He enjoys playing his bass guitar and keyboard, apart from playing many sports.
