In this chapter, we reviewed the key areas of the Oracle BI system and its Fusion Middleware architecture, with WebLogic at the core of the system. You'll find that it is equally important to understand the infrastructure and architecture of both WebLogic Server and Oracle BI 12c for where they intersect, and where the additional power of WebLogic may be leveraged for more advanced technology operations such as lifecycle management and programmability.

In the next few chapters, you will install the Oracle BI 12c software. It might seem like a lot to digest at first, but in the end you'll have your own private sandbox, free to play with, and occasionally break, at your own discretion.
