Recruiting participants
When it comes to deciding the number of participants for our experiments, we will have to take several factors into account. We have to create manageable groups that produce valuable results and, at the same time, we also need to keep in mind that the budget will be limited.
Keep in mind that design is an iterative process. If you have a budget to recruit 15 users, it may be better to organize three rounds of 5 participants where you can adjust each round based on what you learned in the previous one rather than having a single round with all users.
If possible, you should contract the services of professionals for the recruiting process. They are experts, and they will save you a lot of time that you can spend elsewhere, creating the assets you will use to develop the method and analyze the results.
The goal will be to cover the maximum possible range of users within our target group. We should try to reach users who represent large groups within our platform. In order to do this, we can try to take into account demographic data, levels of experience, technical capabilities, and all those aspects that we consider important when interacting with our platform.
