Address growth

Addresses in Ethereum are similar to accounts in real life, although they are easier to generate, so it's not unusual for people to manage 10 addresses at any given point. When Ethereum was founded, a total of 9,205 addresses were created. Since then, Ethereum hasn't stopped growing and by January 1st, 2019 there were 54,281,633 addresses created with a daily growth of about 51,139. Those are 50 million addresses that we can approximate to 5 million users, since we can assume that normal users have about 10 addresses given the easiness to create them.

The 54 million addresses indicates to us that Ethereum is still in the adoption phase while growing consistently. People are discovering this technology for the first time, they are joining, and they are bringing more people in. Whenever we reach 1 billion addresses, we can say with confidence that the technology is mainstream, and that people have integrated it into their daily lives.
