Technical requirements

The recipes in this chapter assume that you already have an appropriate development environment in place on your workstation, including a SQL Server 2019 instance, with the administration and development tools installed and access to a valid Azure subscription. All these prerequisites are covered in Chapter 1 of this cookbook, entitled Getting Started with Azure and SSIS 2019.

Important note

The resources required by the Big Data Clusters service in Azure exceed the terms and restrictions of the free Azure subscription; therefore, you are going to need a Pay-As-You-Go Azure subscription in order to complete the recipes in this chapter. Make sure to remove the resources after you have completed all the recipes to reduce the cost of your subscription.
