Introduction

ArchGenXML is a great tool to ease the development of archetypes-based content types. It provides a graphic and bug-proof alternative to code products for Plone. It also allows the generation of workflow code or even portal tools.

We don't aim to review comprehensively the whole set of ArchGenXML features but to introduce it as a trigger for learning it more deeply and as an introduction to the Archetypes framework.

In this chapter, we'll tackle the first item in the Customer requirements list we have exposed in the preface.
