Foreword

This code is prepared by the requirement of Announcement of printing and distribution of establishment and revision plans for national standards in engineering construction in 2001 to 2002（Jian Biao［2002］No.85）of Ministry of Construction of the People's Republic of China.This code is revised on the basis of GB 50168-92 Electric Equipment Installation Engineering　Code for Construction and Acceptance of cable System by China Electric Power Research Institute and the relevant departments.

This code comprises 8 chapters and 1 appendixes with the main contents as follows:General provisions，Terms，Transportation，storage and keeping of cables and accessories，Construction of attached facilities and structures of power cable line，Laying of cables，Installation of cable accessories，Construction of the fireproofing and flame-retardant facilities in power cable line，Transfer and acceptance.

As compared with the former edition，the following revisions are made herein:

1.The chapter"Terms"is additionally incorporated.

2.The more explicit provisions in connection of cable duct are given.

3.The more strict and specific provisions in cable fireproof construction are given.

4.The provisions in construction of cable dividing box are additionally incorporated.

5.The more strict and specific provisions in construction of overhead cable line are given.

6.In the chapter of"installation of the cable accessories"，the specific provisions in installation of termination and joint of high voltage cable are given.

The provisions printed in bold type in this code are compulsory ones and must be enforced strictly.

This code is in charge of the administration of Ministry of Construction of the People's Republic of China and the obligatory items are under the explanation of it.China Electric Power Research Institute is responsible for the explanation of specific technical contains.
