4　General Principles

4.0.1　This standard is made to standardize the technical requirements of hydraulic concrete durability and improve the durability design as well as construction，acceptance and quality assessment for hydraulic concrete.

4.0.2　The following basic principles shall be followed to determine technical requirements for hydraulic concrete durability:

1　The durability requirements shall be proposed through special demonstration according to the grade of hydraulic structures，surrounding environment，management conditions for construction and operation，consequences of structure damage and maintenance conditions so as to keep the hydraulic structures safe and reliable，technically advanced，practical and economy and rationality.

2　For grade Ⅰ hydraulic structures，test and demonstration shall be made in light of the main factors affecting durability.

3　For the structures with durability requirement，technical requirements shall be clear defined for the construction techniques，quality control and operation management.

4　When introduction of new technologies，new-type materials，new techniques and advanced equipment into improve durability，test and demonstration shall be made.

4.0.3　In addition to complying with the requirements in this standard，the durability of hydraulic concrete shall also comply with the specifications in current relevant national standards.
