安尼克古堡Alnwick Castle

Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England after the Windsor Castle. It is situated at the Northern England Town of Alnwick Northumberland County, built in England and Scotland at the junction of the river on an Ontario rock. The castle is the home of the Duke of Northumberland whose family, the Percys, have lived here since 1309. It was rebuilt in the 18th century over the original Norman castle, which retained its massive keep and curtain wall. The border stronghold has survived many battles and now peacefully dominates the surrounding countryside. Statues of soldiers were placed at the top of the gatehouse in an attempt to dissuade marauding attacking from Scots. Numerous bright windows are shining under the stars.
